Abstract | Russia at the beginning of the twenty-first century has turned into a country of paradoxes. For example, even though society is increasingly dependent on education and science, it is spending less and less on them. Despite all the talk about how intelligence goes where the pay is better, higher and secondary education, evidently, is an exception. As a result, the simple reproduction of the intellectual potential of the country's educational institutions finds itself in jeopardy. This article examines how exploitation of college instructors becomes a threat not only to higher education but also to the development of Russia. An analysis of the current professional level of college instructors indicates that in ten to fifteen years no one will be able to provide a higher education that is up to the challenges of the twenty-first century.
