Abstract | Defines an ideal, well-articulated counterculture, describing the types of social and cultural circumstances that either impede or promote the articulation of school subcultures and/or countercultures. Develops the concept of articulation to help clarify the counterculture concept and differentiate fully developed countercultures from other forms of student resistance. Uses examples from East Asia and other countries. (Contains references.) (SM) |
