Abstract | Analyzes, from statistical labor force sources since 1987, two potential influences on higher education demand in Spain: family characteristics and labor market signals. Results indicate that family characteristics (particularly the mother's educational attainment), and labor market signals (employment and income expectations according to education level) influence the demand for higher education in Spain.
