Abstract | Changes in higher-education policy make it harder for underrepresented minorities in urban environments to gain access to or succeed in higher education. A framework is offered for effective college preparation programs to address the unique needs of low-income, urban minority youth. The framework focuses on development of both academic and cultural capital and family involvement in this population. (Author/MSE) |
