Abstract | Preparing outstanding school leaders demands authenticity in preservice and inservice programs and in relationships with practitioners. Administrator educators must stress usable knowledge to counteract bureaucratic orthodoxies; promote nonorthodox findings adaptable to school settings; settle for individual findings, rather than complicated systems of findings; and responsibly interpret theoretical propositions and research findings.
