Abstract | Fifty-seven gifted individuals with deafness or hearing impairments were analyzed in terms of educational, career, and mental health status. Thirty-nine percent had experienced mental illness requiring therapy. Of the 49 old enough for postsecondary schooling, 43% had graduated from a 4-year college. Thirty-three percent were working in professional or supervisory roles. (Author/JDD) |
