Abstract | An experiment tested differences in story comprehension of a video-played silent sequence to one group of British native speakers of English and to three groups of nonnative speakers of English with different backgrounds. Comprehension results, measured by questions and summary writing, indicate that nonnative speakers are less able to recognize and use available visual cues. (Contains 14 references.) (Author/LB) |
