AbstractThe study assesses the correlation between on-the-job training methods and the organisational typology in Mongolia. Significant correlation was revealed between OJT methods and the commonwealth organisations, service organisations, maintenance organisations and business organisations, and mutual benefit associations (SE 0.000); while moderate correlation was revealed with managerial organisations (SE 0.002). The study shows that in this era of organisational transformations toward learning and knowledge-driven institutions, on-the-job training is the key tool that allows flexible adaptation to the market and constantly improves effectiveness and productivity. It surmises that Mongolian organisations are at the earlier stage of adopting effective on-the-job training methods and its appropriate utilisation according to the typology of the organisations. The study highlights further utilisation of effective on-the-job training methods and serves as a sound basis for interventions by steering organisations in Mongolia to consider implementing standardised training methods as practiced by international organisations.
