Abstract | In this article, the authors share ideas for harnessing the power of mathematics and children's literature to understand social justice issues with upper primary students, which can be adapted for younger students. The authors focus on the critical issues of food scarcity and waste. Children's literature and current data are purposefully employed to enlighten and challenge children's understanding of these social justice issues and call on them to take action. (ERIC). |
