AbstractIn education, looping is defined as a continuous movement where a student has the same teacher for multiple years in a row. This strategy began in the 20th century by an Australian educator, Rudolf Steiner. This type of teaching was a success in Europe and was eventually called the Waldorf School Movement. This movement was founded on his reality and innovative teachings of the social pedagogy. He was insistent that the teacher and child accompany each other through a full eight years of school to make sure that their relationship was fully developed. He believes that building a relationship was more essential than the instructional components in a classroom. There are approximately 1,000 privately operated Waldorf schools, Steiner schools, or Steiner-Waldorf schools located worldwide in various countries that use looping. (waldorfeducation.org, 2015) Even though this type of education is common in other parts of the world, the Unites States has not fully embraced this style of teaching. (As Provided).
