Abstract | Against the backdrop of racist campus events nationwide, Jessica Hamlin and Victoria Restler came together to read, talk, and plot ways to build their understandings of Whiteness within their own teaching and institutions--one of them works with preservice artist educators and the other with emerging and established youth development professionals. They wanted to surface the deeply rooted practices and assumptions of schooling that marginalize non-White students by questioning their orientations and habits. They were also interested in building community to help identify/visualize/sense oppressive structures of Whiteness across educational contexts. This instructional resource explores the creation and activation of an image archive to confront White supremacy in educational spaces. It also describes the authors' work in designing and leading a series of educator workshops to picture Whiteness in school spaces as a tool for denaturalizing and disrupting educational White supremacy.
