Abstract	Nowadays, citizens are being socialized in a culture of consumption, of satisfaction, and convenience, as well as of unprecedented spending. Citizens are growing up and maturing within a structure and lifestyle typical of a capitalist and neoliberal society. What is more, human values are being destroyed in that society and the values of the market, capital, and consumption are being promoted. As a result, this generates discrimination and exclusion in terms of economy, social class, beliefs, behaviors, and attitudes which noticeably demonstrate a lack of solidarity. We think that there is a need for social intervention which protects, defends, and trains citizens so that they make free decisions, based on truthful information and accompanied by rationality. It is necessary to equip people with defense mechanisms, the most powerful of which is education, and in this case Education for Consumption. In this work, we present the characteristics of a consumerist pedagogy covered by neoliberalism and backed by the laws of the market. As opposed to this pedagogy of consumption, we present a critical pedagogy of consumption based on a pedagogical intervention, which is founded on a framework of cognitive, attitudinal, and procedural application. In addition, it is based on a methodology that favors students' critical and autonomous development. (As Provided).
