AbstractLight pollution is nowadays well known all over the world and may negatively cause disturbance to human and have diverse effects. This study aims to identify the views and opinions of the Islamic University of Gaza students on light pollution and then to create awareness among them about the risky problem facing rapidly our society. The study is based on the survey questions and semi-structured interviews and then the data is collected from the survey questions and semi-structured interviews were qualitatively analyzed and quotes from the students' statements were included. Most of the students recognized that excessive lighting can adversely affect a person's health. The results also show that 40.0% of the students feel that the area outside of their residence is at night is "Fair Brightness", 29.2% "Bright as day", 13.8% "Pitch Black", and 16.9% "A Little Black". 90.8% of the sample are familiar with light pollution, but 9.2% is not. Some suggestions and recommendations will be made for controlling and reducing light pollution to have a healthy society. [Note: The volume number (11) shown on the PDF is incorrect.
