Abstract | This study is built upon the personal experience of the author and relevant literature. The main aim of the study was to describe the status of the distance learning program at a major Russian university. The author worked as a Fulbright specialist at one of the Federal universities in Russia in 2018. The outcomes are based on multiple unobtrusive observations of the faculty and conversations with the faculty and administration. The major challenges and barriers to the development of distance learning curriculum at the university are indicated and described. The author assumes that these problems may be typical for the higher education in Russia. (As Provided). |
