Abstract | The Special Olympics (SO) FUNfitness Program involves a comprehensive screening for flexibility, strength, balance, and aerobic fitness for individuals with intellectual disability (ID). Doctor of Physical Therapy students at Indiana State University administer the program yearly as part of the Indiana SO Summer Games. Thematic analysis of student reflections revealed increased awareness of individuals with ID, both beneficial and challenging aspects of the experience, and increased likelihood of working with underserved populations in the future.
