Abstract | This article explores the case for integrating intellectual virtues into the curriculum and pedagogical practice of preparing future school leaders. Professional accreditation standards provided a foundation for demonstrating the role of intellectual virtue in the practice of effectively running schools. The Virtuous Scientist project served as the primary inspiration for how intellectual virtue can practicably inform a college curriculum designed to prepare students for professional practice. Instructional, curricular, and assessment examples are provided to illustrate how college faculty might implement an intellectual virtue-based school leadership preparation program. Potential obstacles to introducing intellectual virtues in a college curriculum are addresses as well as proposals for overcoming those obstacles. (As Provided). |
