| Abstract | Creating safety for women within the holistic model of self -- emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual -- is essential for healing and recovery from trauma. Building trust and providing safety gives women the permission to share their stories by using creative storytelling media without violating their boundaries. The process is about bringing awareness and empowerment to the self in all areas, and growing to a place of healing and recovery through the creative expression of painful and shame-based feelings. Creating safety provides the opportunity to begin the process of healing and recovery. (As Provided). |
