Abstract | School counselors implement school counseling programs that serve to promote student success for all students. Character development can be an important element within school counseling programs. This article will provide a comprehensive overview of the establishment of character development in schools and within comprehensive school counseling programs. Further, a basic primer regarding students with autism spectrum disorder is presented for school counselors. In addition, a discussion provides examples of how a character development program can be applied in working with students on the autism spectrum through the use of social stories. (As Provided). |
