Abstract | This study explores how Native American student affairs professionals entered the field and factors influencing their decision to pursue a career in student affairs. Fifty-two participants responded to an online survey. Awareness of student affairs came through involvement in campus organizations and student leadership, and respondents pursued student affairs to provide programs, services, and to give back to Native American students and community. Implications for Native American students and recruitment into the profession are discussed. (As Provided). |
