Abstract | The aim of this article is to provide a primer on the key concepts and terminology of online instruction to faculty considering the adoption of online instructional practices to increase accessibility to graduate students. These concepts and terms are neither specific to school psychology training nor to graduate education. This article is second in a series in which the authors explore different approaches to e-learning that may be used to facilitate implementation of the NASP training model. In the following pieces in this series, the authors share ideas for how faculty in school psychology graduate programs might leverage instructional tools and practices defined in this article for both content-based and field-based instruction as well as developing communities of practice among students. This primer is organized to present concepts in the order in which they may be used in the planning stages in the development of a course. As such, the broader concepts are presented first, and specific practices and tools follow. (ERIC). |
