Abstract | Peter Felten is executive director of the Center for Engaged Learning and assistant provost for teaching and learning at Elon University, where he also serves as a professor of history. Charles C. Schroeder is the past president of ACPA--College Student Educators International and founding coexecutive editor of "About Campus." Felten and Schroeder are the authors (with John N. Gardner, Leo Lambert, and Betsy O. Barefoot) of the 2016 book, "The Undergraduate Experience: Focusing Institutions on What Matters Most." "About Campus" editor Frank Shushok sat down with Felten and Schroeder at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, Virginia, to discuss their book, their ideas about strengthening student learning on college and university campuses, their views on creating a quality undergraduate experience for students, and why every relationship matters.
