Abstract | When a teacher educator is called on to teach a blind student in her class for aspiring teachers of elementary mathematics, she feels ill-prepared for the challenge. As she learns how to accommodate the student's needs, she learns a lot about being a good teacher--to not assume that a student will be able to show his or her learning the same way that other students do, to not underestimate what the student can do, and to trust that the student will do the work. (As Provided). |
