Abstract | In this digital literacy project, struggling high school readers remixed the "Star Wars" canon through audio storytelling. The "Star Wars" phenomenon motivates adolescents who may be disengaged in the classroom. Students served as actors, Foley artists, and directors in the recording of brief episodes based on the original trilogy. The project heightens students' oral fluency and text comprehension by engaging in close reading and structured dialogue. Through the use of Chromebooks and Google Apps, students were able to move through the production process and the recordings demonstrate how students can be effective storytellers and produce an original remix audio production.
