Abstract | See, Say, Write is an adaptable classroom writing routine that teachers can use across a range of activities in the preschool classroom. This preschool writing routine offers an opportunity for teachers to build on a shared experience through engagement in rich conversation and writing. After a shared experience, teachers will provide a visual reminder of the experience (SEE). Through the use of open-ended questioning, the teacher will facilitate a rich conversation with the group of children (SAY). Finally, the teacher will offer an opportunity for children to write individually or participate in a group writing experience (WRITE). See, Say, Write is a writing routine that can be implemented in combination with other activities, for enhancing content knowledge building and promoting language and literacy skill growth. A science related content example is provided. (As Provided). |
