Abstract | As universities indigenise practices there is space opening up for Indigenous undergraduate research and researchers. This paper describes promising practices arising from Knowledge Makers, an Indigenous undergraduate research mentoring initiative in British Columbia, Canada. Now in its fourth year, Knowledge Makers has enabled more than 40 first generation Indigenous researchers to publish and expand understandings of Indigenous research. Knowledge Makers shows that 'truth' was never lot to a 'Post-Truth' era. This is about learning what is already known -- that indigenous peoples have confidence, capability and control over 'truth making' in the academy; and that indigenous research has the potential to educate many about the transforming, positive change of research that is of service to others.
