Abstract | This dissertation explores the online learning experience of graduate students with visual impairments and their perspectives on this newer method of learning. Case study methodology was adopted to describe and analyze participants' perspectives from three lens: (a) participants' personal attributes, (b) support sought from participants' social and academic society, and (c) participants' perspective on the online learning environment. Findings from this research can present factors effecting academic success and satisfaction with online programs for graduate students with visual impairments. Stakeholders, such as administrators, faculty, instructional technologists, assistive technologists, and leaders in higher education, can be assisted in understanding visually impaired students' needs and thus better able to make informed decisions that foster pragmatic online learning environments as well as collaborate effectively to support students with visual impairments.
