AbstractThis document, "Annex 1 to the Final Report to DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission" is intended as a companion piece to European Commission report "Preparing Teachers for Diversity: The Role of Initial Teacher Education. Final Report". It contains country fiches which are overviews of available information organized in alphabetical order by country. Background information is provided for each country in the following categories: (1) Diversity of the learner and teacher population; (2) Structural Challenges of the Teaching Profession; and (3) Organization of ITE. The reports also provide the following information for each country: (1) Understanding diversity in the national education policy; (2) Education policy goals on ITE for diversity; (3) Teacher competences for diversity; (4) Diversity in the ITE quality assurance framework; (5) Admission Criteria; (6) Alternative pathways; (7) Focus on diversity in the ITE curriculum and induction; (8) Examples of curricula content related to diversity, and (9) Support measures.
