Abstract | This study addressed the effectiveness of a violence prevention program in an inner-city alternative school setting. The researcher, an administrator at the school, used a prepackaged curriculum targeting lessons on violence in an eight-week study with the entire school population. Students met bi-weekly with a team of two teachers to review and discuss the violence-based curriculum. Students were given a pretest and a posttest to assess their attitudes and beliefs about violence. Although the attitudes of the students did not statistically improve, there was a statistical improvement in discipline rates.
