Abstract | The Special Education Division of the Office of Public Instruction (OPI) provides many services to Montana schools to assist them in providing a quality education to all students. The programs managed through this division are all aligned with Superintendent Juneau's Graduation Matters Montana initiative. The special education division is organized into four work units that provide professional development, funding, data collection and analysis, and general supervision to local school districts. These efforts are supported by an excellent group of administrative assistants that keep the division functioning smoothly. This document is divided into the following parts: (1) Special Education Division; (2) Students Served; (3) Funding; and (4) State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report. Special Education Acronym Dictionary is appended. (Contains 11 figures and 36 tables.) (ERIC). |
