AbstractThis study explored the association between the variables of flow, attention, and employment in the context of a state/federal vocational rehabilitation program. Attention deficit and flow disposition data were collected using stratified random sampling and the Flow-Attention Questionnaire. 475 questionnaires were mailed with a response rate of 19.58%. 93 responses were obtained and stratified based on the assessment of respondents' possessing attention or no attention limitations with 25 and 68 in each stratum respectively. Chi-square and Phi coefficients were obtained. Findings indicated little association between the variables. Small effect sizes were observed but given the general acceptance of a strong association in the published literature, the findings have practical value. Future research must consider a more comprehensive model of attention. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
