| Abstract | "Alabama Education News" is published monthly except for June, July, and December by the Alabama Department of Education. This publication, authorized by Section 16-2-4 of the "Code of Alabama", as recompiled in 1975, is a public service of the Alabama Department of Education designed to inform citizens and educators about programs and goals of public education in Alabama. This issue contains the following articles: (1) Initiative Helps Alabama Students Get Jobs; (2) Alabama Still Gaining in Advanced Placement[R]; (3) 2009 Teacher of the Year Featured in New Book; (4) Teacher Testing Lawsuit Dismissed After Nearly 30 Years of Litigation; (5) March is Youth Art Month!; (6) Superintendent's Visual Arts Exhibit; (7) Alabama State Board of Education To Extend Deadline for Professional Educator Certificates; and (8) Join Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX) and iTunes U in the Podcast Revolution!
