AbstractThe purpose of this handbook is to provide a resource for institutions, departments, faculty members, and articulation committees who are engaged in articulating courses and programs for credit within the British Columbia (BC) Transfer System. The handbook is based on best practices as observed and recorded by the British Columbia Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT) over years of coordinating and administering articulation and transfer, and is intended to be a codification of what faculty and administrators have learned from experience and what works in the BC context. It includes suggestions, checklists, models, and questions and answers about common and not-so-common articulation issues. It covers the basics of bilateral course-to-course transfer, and also provides information for those engaged in multilateral or block transfer, or in alternate or innovative approaches to articulation. Five appendixes are included: (1) Articulation Resources Online; (2) Glossary of Articulation Terms; (3) Principles & Guidelines for Transfer; (4) Checklist for Negotiating a Non-Standard Articulation Agreement; and (5) Block Transfer Form. (Contains 9 endnotes.) [This publication was prepared by Finola Finlay and Valerie Yorkston.] (ERIC).
