Abstract | This document summarizes a study relating to California counties receiving state funds for Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA) programs. These counties are required to report six outcome measures to the California State Legislature on an annual basis to measure the success of the program. These outcome measures are (1) successful completion of probation, (2) arrests, (3) probation violations, (4) incarcerations, (5) successful completion of restitution, and (6) successful completion of community service. The fiscal year 2005-06 annual report (ED498466) summarizes those findings, as well as additional program information gathered by the Los Angeles County Probation Department based on its oversight and monitoring of program implementation and outcomes. The report will be of interest to researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in the effectiveness of intervention programs for participating youths and those involved in the juvenile justice system. (Contains 4 footnotes and 4 tables.) [This report was written with Jitahadi Imara and Felicia Cotton. For full report, see ED5498466.
