Abstract | The Child Welfare League of America is the nation's oldest and largest membership-based child welfare organization committed to engaging people everywhere in promoting the well-being of children, youth, and their families and protecting every child from harm. By publishing a diverse range of views on a wide array of topics, "Children's Voice" seeks to encourage public discussion and debate among those who are committed to helping children and families. The following are included in this issue of "Children's Voice": (1) Child Welfare and Technology (Technology is only as revolutionary as the plan that drives it.); (2) Child Welfare and the Challenge of New Americans (Growing immigrant populations create questions for child welfare policy and practice); (3) Poisonous Predator (Gone from gasoline and paint, lead continues to pose danger to kids); (4) Management Matters (One Agency's Journey to Developing More Effective Supervisors); (5) Executive Directions; (6) Agency Briefs; (7) National News Roundup; (8) Exceptional Children: Navigating Learning Disabilities and Special Education (Reaching for Resilience); (9) The Down to Earth Dad (Physical Punishment....And Why Kids Are Better Off Without It); (10) Eye on CWLA; (11) Other Voices (Donald T. Floyd Jr., National 4-H Council); and (12) Bulletin Board. (ERIC). |
