Abstract	This document is a user-friendly student workbook which teaches students how to save money so that they will be able to afford college. It guides six fictional students through chapters about how to earn, save, and budget their money. It makes the connection between having college as a goal, preparing for it financially over the long term, and having the ability to pay for it. Chapters on banking, debt, the cost of college, kinds of colleges and how to choose a college provides students and parents of color, low income, or no previous post-secondary education with the information that will help encourage and prepare them to complete high school and pursue post-secondary education. The Get Ready! program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education under GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) with matching funds from the state of Minnesota.
