Abstract | This special issue, written in French, is dedicated to highlighting the past 74 issues of the journal since its inception 35 years ago. The first article reflects on the journal's history and evolution, in particular with regard to volume, the distribution of languages (French, German Italian, and Raeto-Roman), the distribution of articles written by one or several authors, and the proportion of male or female authored articles. It lists the issues by subject from 1974-2002 and the Association's articles from 1966-2002. In addition, it features an interview with Eddy Roulet, the journal's editor from 1967 to 1977, as well as a number of essays and abstracts by various authors on the history of the journal, the subject of applied linguistics as treated in the journal, a German textbook on linguistics and style, the French language as spoken by Arabic-speaking Moroccans in Marseille, reading in a foreign language, in particular romance languages, and a description of a German-French dictionary of phrases, connecting words, interjections, and other "difficult invariables" used in the German language.
