Abstract | This complete teacher edition of a diesel technology course consists of introductory pages, teacher pages, and the student edition. The introductory pages provide these tools: training and competency profile; National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation Crosswalk; instructional/task analysis; basic skills icons and classifications; basic skills matrix; and tools, equipment, and materials list. The teacher pages consist of some or all of these components for each unit: suggested activities; answers to assignment sheets; written test with answer key; learning activities sheet(s); teacher supplements; and transparency masters. The student edition provides some or all of these components for each unit: objective sheet; information sheet; student supplements; assignment sheets; and job sheets. Twelve units are grouped into three sections. Section A: Workplace Tools has these five units: overview of diesel-powered vehicles, basic tools and equipment, reference materials, measuring instruments, and shop operation. Section B: Common Materials has these four units: mechanical fasteners; lines, fittings, and couplings; seals and bearings; and fluids and lubricants. Section C has three units: basic electrical principles, basic hydraulic principles, and basic welding and cutting. (YLB) |
