Abstract | This guide is intended to help career and technical education teachers perform the new roles expected of them in view of the new emphasis on school-to-careers programs. The following are among the topics discussed in the guide's nine chapters: role of the career and technical educator; providing career guidance; integrating academic and career and technical education; advising a student organization; providing work-based learning; helping students make the transition from school to careers; creating a community relations program; evaluating and improving programs; and professional development.
