| Abstract | This document contains presentation summaries from a conference on "Responding to Welfare Reform." The first presentation, from the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), deals with the impact of welfare reform on two-year colleges. It discusses the national impact of TANF, the results from a July 1997 AACC survey concerning community colleges and welfare reform, successful welfare-to-work models, and legislative changes to the TANF law. The next section summarizes a presentation by Broome Community College. It outlines the proponents and results of Broome's Workforce Development Pilot Program. Other presentation summaries in the paper discuss Corning Community College's Learn to Earn Program, Monroe Community College's Work and Learn Center, Niagara County Community College and the Niagara County "One Stop" Access Center, Onondaga Community College's JOBSplus Program, and Sullivan County Community College's OASAS/VESID Residential Treatment Training Program.
