AbstractThis document presents data tables and graphs on the performance levels at Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) for each of its 12 success measures. The 12 measures included are: access to students, persistence, basic skills completion, graduation, transfer, student satisfaction, matriculation of continuing education students to college credit coursework, job upgrading and lifelong learning, job placement, faculty and staff, financial indicators, and each department's own unique goal. Highlights include the following: (1) 25,184 students were enrolled in college credit coursework, and 16,231 students were enrolled in continuing education programs in fall 1996; (2) in fall 1996, 297 students successfully completed basic skills courses in English, 280 completed math, and 252 completed reading; (3) RSCCD awarded 1,408 associate degrees in the 1995-96 school year; (4) transfer rates to California State Universities and Universities of California increased from 366 in 1993 to 493 to 1995; (5) matriculation of continuing education students to college credit coursework shrank from 687 in fall 1995 to 453 to spring 1996; (6) 94% of former occupational education students said their Rancho Santiago College courses helped them to obtain a license/certificate and 95% said it helped them improve at their current job; and (7) from July, 1994 to January, 1997, 64% of newly hired faculty were white, 24% were Latino, 6% were African-American, and 11% were Asian.
