AbstractThis handbook is designed to assist interested individuals in identifying and developing support services for special populations students. It defines students from special populations and lists their characteristics. The major part of the handbook is devoted to providing a brief description of each of the following support services: vocational resource educator, vocational preparation teacher, vocational counselor for special populations, basic skills instructor, supplemental professional staff, vocational evaluator, vocational teacher aides, tutors, interpreters for the deaf, and readers and note takers. Each description details the major activity groups into which responsibilities for each support service fall and lists sources for the information. A description is also provided of advisory committees, their suggested specific functions, groups or areas the members might represent, and criteria for selection of members. Sources for this information are listed. (YLB)
