Abstract	The third volume in a series of atlases of language vitality covers 13 countries of West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo) and 59 major languages. The atlas consists of four main parts. The first offers comparative data, in bar graph and tabular form, on the vitality of specific languages in written and oral form, by domain (religion, schools, mass media, administration, courts, legislature, manufacturing industries, sales and service industries, and overall) for all countries. The second part presents the same information in somewhat more detailed form, by country. Part three presents the usage data by language, again in bar graph and tabular form. The final section focuses on the vitality of languages used between states, with all domains considered together. The atlas is indexed by domain, language, and country. (MSE)
