Abstract	This manual is designed for students to use in a preemployment class as part of a literacy education program. It contains worksheets and exercises developed to help students begin a job search and to keep a job once employment is found. The manual is organized in 14 sections that cover the following topics: introductory material for the class; goal setting; resumes; references; job search methods; networking; job applications; cover letters; interviewing; follow-up letters; support systems; work ethics; the first day on a new job; and getting ahead.
