Abstract | This report presents eight tables of enrollment data on college and university racial and ethnic distribution for New York State in Fall 1991. The data summaries were obtained from the 1991-92 Higher Education Data System Survey form "Enrollment by Racial/Ethnic Status, Fall 1991." Table 1 shows enrollment in institutions of higher education by racial/ethnic category, level of student and gender. Tables 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 show enrollment in institutions by racial/ethnic category, level of student and gender for public institutions, State University of New York institutions, City University of New York institutions, independent institutions, and proprietary institutions, respectively. Table 7 shows undergraduate enrollment by sector, institutional level, racial/ethnic category, and attendance status. Table 8 contains information on enrollment of first-time freshmen in institutions of higher education by racial/ethnic category, sector and attendance status. The document defines and uses the following racial/ethnic categories: Nonresident Alien; Black, Non-Hispanic; American Indian or Alaskan Native; Asian or Pacific Islander; Hispanic; and White, Non-Hispanic.
