Abstract	This procedure manual describes the uniform procedures used by the Hicksville, New York School District's Health Services Program. Its objectives are to establish a uniform set of health services guidelines and procedures, to update all health forms, to maintain an awareness of the current changes in health laws that govern school districts, and to provide a reference for all staff. Topics covered in the manual include: (1) health information series; (2) mandated screenings; (3) communicable diseases; (4) immunization; (5) medication in the school setting; (6) annual physical examinations; (7) sports physical examinations; (8) physical education restrictions; (9) new entrants; (10) student accidents; (11) employee report of injury; (12) forms for health office use; (13) first aid A to Z and emergency procedures; (14) cumulative health record; (15) home instruction; (16) transportation; (17) child abuse; and (18) substitute school nurse.
