Abstract	This workbook, which is intended to be used in conjunction with the handbook entitled "New Emerging Careers: Today, Tomorrow, and in the 21st Century," contains exercises designed to help individuals or groups of people envision future careers, life-styles, and jobs and their significance to workers and society. Chapter 1 introduces the workbook. Chapter 2 explains how to do the more than 460 futuristic exercises with a group and provides a list of the 48 interest categories of exercises, general guidelines, and information on how to get started, how to facilitate group work, how to report to a larger group, and how to close an exercise session. Chapter 3 contains 462 exercises, each of which is a short scenario about what could happen in the future to individuals, countries, society, and humankind in general. Participants are asked what effect the events in the scenario would have on them personally or on a larger group and/or what action they or others should take in response to the events in a scenario. Chapter 4 consists of exercises that involve participants in drawing potential future situations (such as volleyball on the moon or immortality) and discussing their drawings. Chapter 5 explains the value of participating in futures exercises. Chapter 6 contains 65 true/false questions about life today and in the future, and gives the answers in some detail. Chapter 7 asks participants to predict the chances (in percentages) that the stated activities will take place by the years 2000 and 2050. An index of exercises by topic is included, and the document concludes with a selected bibliography of 90 references. (CML)
