Abstract	A brief review of the federal constitutional provisions and equivalent Texas Constitutional provisions for the criminally accused is provided in question and answer form. First Amendment rights related to such matters as freedom of the press, rights of students, picketing, distributing leaflets, state licensing, and obscenity are considered in the first chapter. Chapter two focuses on Fourth Amendment rights: control of police activity, frisking, warrants, informants, consent, exceptions to warrants, and automobile stops. Chapter three, the Fifth Amendment, covers "Miranda" warnings, custody, interrogation, failure to testify, immunity, grand jury proceedings, double jeopardy, acquittal, conviction, and mistrial. Issues covered under the Sixth Amendment include rights of minors, public defenders, self-representation, speedy trial, and public trials. Eighth Amendment coverage includes bail, bond, and cruel and unusual punishment. A chapter on the Fourteenth Amendment focuses on due process, plea bargaining, abortion, and equal protection. The final chapter looks at habeas corpus and bills of attainder. (LP)
