| Abstract | The Title IX/Sex Equity training model is designed to assist education personnel and interested citizens in the implementation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the attainment of sex equity in education. This manual provides session outlines, activities, and materials for elementary and secondary school administrators in a six-hour Title IX/sex equity workshop. Objectives of the session are (1) to share progress, problems, and concerns related to administration of Title IX compliance efforts, and to review the five basic compliance procedures required by the Title IX regulation; (2) to provide participants the opportunity to consider the role of Title IX coordinator in their own agencies; (3) to consider problems related to the implementation of the Title IX grievance procedure; (4) to provide a framework for institutional self-evaluations under Title IX; (5) to provide criteria for evaluating Title I compliance activities; and (6) to provide participants with problem-solving activities related to Title IX compliance. Accordingly, the manual provides instructions for a group session comprising 11 activities related to these areas. Each activity consists of a lecture, individual activities, small group activities, and a large group discussion. 15 participant worksheets are included, along with a workshop evaluation sheet and 11 appendixes providing various resources for the workshop.
