Abstract	This handbook on women workers, revised from the 1975 edition, provides current data related to worklife experiences of women and their economic and legal status, especially during the last half of the 1970s. In addition, historical data provide a perspective on trends in the labor force, experiences of women, and the effects of legislation on women's employment. The handbook offers a review of the eight-year period, characterizing the time as a "time of change." The report documents, through statistical data and accounts of legal developments, changes in the role of women in the labor force and thus in the economy of the United States. It reflects results of studies by government and non-government sources. The study is organized in two parts: chapters in Part 1 focus on women's labor market activity, the occupations and industries in which they are employed, their income and earnings, educational attainment, and various kinds of job training; chapters in Part 2 identify federal and state laws that affect women's employment. A summary of study highlights is included in this document. (KC)
