Abstract | Part of a continuing series intended for use by reading professionals interested in understanding and improving the reading of adolescents, this report contains five articles dealing with a variety of subjects. Specific topics discussed in the articles are (1) readability, (2) reading deficiencies and previous English instruction of land grant university students at the entry level, (3) reading ability and knowledge of the reading process among remedial and nonremedial readers at the postsecondary level, (4) research concerning the effects of guided imagery upon reading performance, and (5) reading comprehension research. In addition, the report provides reflections upon two articles previously published in the series. (FL) |
